Certificates of Excellence
Spen Valley Civic Society likes to recognise good design of new buildings, sensitive restoration or recycling of historic buildings, and environmental improvements to our valley. We award Certificates of Excellence after nomination and inspection, with owners' involvement and consent.
Previous recipients have included:
For restoration: Lowfold Hall, Roberttown Lane Roberttown, The Old Hall Pub New North Road Heckmondwike, 52 Lower Lane Gomersal, Sigston Fold Gomersal.
For extensions: Yorkshire Bank Cleckheaton, and Hightown JIN School.
For conversions: Aakash Cleckheaton (from chapel to restaurant); National School Liversedge (from derelict school to apartments); Elm Bank Cleckheaton (from dwelling to hostel)
