What we do
Our aim is to maintain high standards in the villages and green spaces of the Spen Valley, so that residents and visitors can enjoy our built environment, our out-of-doors natural resources, and our fascinating under-appreciated local history. We hold meetings and events; work with the council and other organisations; and undertake environmental projects around Spen Valley. These have included tree-planting, conservation, creation of landmarks celebrating historical events; maps and trails; and the transformation of derelict eyesores into public open spaces. See subpages in "Projects" for details.
We normally meet from 7.30-9pm on the second Thursday of the month, at Healds Hall Hotel, Leeds Road, Liversedge WF15 6JA. Do come and join us! 2020 meeting dates are: 9th Jan; 13th Feb; 12th March; 9th April; 14th May; 11th June; 9th July; no meeting August; 10th Sept; 8th October; 12th November. We'll hold a Christmas Social at a different venue 10th Dec 2020. Due to Covid19 restrictions, normal meetings are currently suspended.
