Mr Men and Little Miss creator Roger Hargreaves was born in the Spen Valley, near the Pack Horse pubs on Halifax Road Hightown. Roger's first Mr Men character was Mr Tickle, who is said to have come about as a doodle when Roger's son Adam asked his Dad "What does a tickle look like?" Mr Tickle and his long arms was followed by many more characters: there are now 46 Mr Men and 33 Little Miss stories available in 22 countries.
