Philip Barton was an amateur gardener who achieved national fame by growing a cabbage weighing a staggering 115lb 11oz, earning himself a place in the Guinness Book of Records. This incredible feat was achieved at Mann Dam allotments in September 1977. Philip was presented with a certificate by Garden News magazine.
